Raising awareness and providing education on critical social issues to cultivate an informed community, empowering individuals through workshops, resource sharing, and community-building sessions.
Our Education Program is dedicated to addressing critical issues through culturally sensitive and inclusive learning opportunities, including workshops, webinars, school and masjid outreach, and community initiatives.
Our educational initiatives are designed with a deep understanding of cultural and religious values. By collaborating with schools, masjids, and community organizations, we ensure that our programs respect the unique needs of diverse audiences while remaining inclusive and welcoming to all backgrounds.
We provide age-appropriate and engaging materials for students, parents, and educators, focusing on human trafficking prevention, resilience building, and abuse awareness. We also work closely with school boards and local organizations to implement policies and programs that address these critical issues.
Partnering with masjids and community leaders, we create culturally relevant resources and deliver presentations that engage and educate the Muslim community. These initiatives aim to foster understanding and action on issues such as exploitation, abuse, and community resilience.
We offer a wide range of educational sessions tailored to meet the diverse needs of our communities. Topics include:
Exploring strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and trauma while fostering resilience and emotional well-being.
Building confidence in youth, celebrating Muslim women, and promoting allyship.
Training service providers on supporting diverse and faith-based communities.
Preventing human trafficking, addressing elder abuse, and fostering anti-bullying
Pottery painting, Islamic calligraphy, and leadership workshops.
We invite you to be part of this vital mission. Whether you're an educator, community leader, or individual seeking to create positive change, our workshops and webinars can be customized to meet your needs. Fill out our Request Form to host a session tailored to your organization or community.
Your donation helps provide education and awareness on critical social issues to help communities in need.
While Sakeenah functions at a national level, our head office and The People’s Market operate out of land that is part of the Treaty and Traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, The Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Huron-Wendat and Wyandot Nations.
Sakeenah believes that while a land acknowledgement is the first step, we also understand that land acknowledgements alone are not sufficient to redress the harm caused by centuries of land theft, forced displacement and ongoing acts of settler colonialism. We recognize that this work is ongoing and complex, and we are dedicated to doing our part to create a better future for all.
