Seniors, join us for a post-Eid social featuring mindfulness, art therapy & high tea! Learn tools for stress relief & wellness in a warm, social setting.

The Eid Celebration for Seniors: Mindfulness, Art & Connection is a joyful post-Eid gathering that brings seniors together to celebrate the spirit of Eid through reflection, creativity, and community connection. This event provides a welcoming space for seniors to share in the warmth of the holiday while nurturing their emotional and mental well-being.
Through guided mindfulness practices, a hands-on art therapy session, and a relaxed social gathering, participants will have opportunities to reduce stress, express themselves creatively, and build meaningful connections with peers. Rooted in both contemporary wellness approaches and culturally familiar values of gratitude, compassion, and togetherness, seniors will learn to carry the peace and joy of Eid into their daily lives.
Lunch will be served.
While Sakeenah functions at a national level, our head office and The People’s Market operate out of land that is part of the Treaty and Traditional Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, The Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Huron-Wendat and Wyandot Nations.
Sakeenah believes that while a land acknowledgement is the first step, we also understand that land acknowledgements alone are not sufficient to redress the harm caused by centuries of land theft, forced displacement and ongoing acts of settler colonialism. We recognize that this work is ongoing and complex, and we are dedicated to doing our part to create a better future for all.
