Sakeenah Foster Care
Our goal is to provide Muslim children in the foster care system culturally and religiously sensitive care in a safe and loving environment. We train foster care parents on providing culturally and religiously sensitive care. Muslim children are taken away from their parents by CAS due to many different reasons such as abuse, neglect, immigration issues, court orders, or trauma
It is estimated that hundreds of Muslim children are in foster care across Canada.
. Our wraparound services mean that we will continue to provide essential support such as therapy and training to these children and the foster families throughout their time together. We also seek to educate our community on foster care and healthy inter-family interactions.

Why We Need Your Support
Sakeenah Foster Care provides extra therapy and counselling services to the children in care, as well as family reunification support and community education and training. All these extra services cost us as an organization both time and money.
